One Response to “Video: Samsung deal and green power”

    Karl Haab says:

I read your article in the Toronto Star today, here is my take on it:
McGuinty’s Green Energy Plan full of potholes
$42 billion dollars going to waste – McGuinty is mortgaging our children’s futures

The Bobsy Twins, Dalton McGuinty and David Miller have recently committed tens of billions of your children’s and grandchildren’s money on green agendas that are full of potholes.
The Al Gore – David Suzuki – IPCC choo-choo-train is going downhill fast, and only the National Post and the Toronto Sun have the guts to write about it. The UN’s IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) commission is quickly self-destructing as the world discovers that their findings are largely fabrications and some of their top people are abandoning their ship.
The McGuinty-Miller machine’s wind turbine and streetcar fetishes have so far committed about seventeen billion dollars with the noble goal of reducing pollution, while these initiatives are actually so poorly conceived they will double pollution instead of reducing it. How so?
Take wind turbines for example. The concept goes back at least two hundred years to the windmills in Holland. Twenty years ago when I took my family on a trip to Holland, we were eager to take pictures of windmills which had been powering part of the economy in the 18 hundreds. We rented a car in Amsterdam to drive through Holland and after two hours of driving we were able to find only one windmill on an abandoned farm. It turns out that windmills may have been a great idea in a sleepy economy two hundred years ago, but they don’t cut it in a fast economy when you need power 24 hours a day! You see, wind power is only available about 40% of the time. When there is no wind, there is no power, no matter how large the wind turbines are.
Wind turbines therefore need a back-up plant that is either coal-fired or powered by natural gas. You therefore need two power plants instead of one. Now you know why hydro costs three times what we pay in Denmark!
And now that the world is discovering that Al Gore has been spewing a lot of hot air, that the temperature of the earth has not increased in eleven years unless you count the hot air from Gore’s speeches, it turns out that many green initiatives may be a waste of taxpayer dollars. Much of the IPCC’s claims of global warming are now exposed as coming from outright lies and fabrication, and the IPCC may well go out of business. And even though ‘Global warming’ has now been re-named ‘Climate change’, David Miller nevertheless opened a ‘Climate Change Office’ in London, England. This is nothing more than a taxpayer funded office to promote his puss in Europe!
And when we get back to the seventeen billion dollars Dalton McGuinty and David Miller have so far committed, don’t forget that anything these two get into, usually ends up costing at least 2½ times as much as they say. So we are asking our children and grandchildren to pay about 42 billion dollars, because we sure as hell won’t be paying off that debt anytime soon.
And despite having been exposed as a fraud, third world countries with the help of the NDP, are still hard at work pushing carbon credits which are nothing more than a re-arrangement of our economies, taking from rich countries to give to the poor ones (read African dictatorships whose money will not help reduce pollution but ends up in the Swiss bank accounts of the dictators). Carbon credits to not reduce pollution, they ask polluters to pay a fine to continue to go on polluting. It would be infinitely better to ask them to reduce pollution.
And these facts are overlooked by Dalton McGuinty and his Energy Minister Brad Duguid.
Please check out the three attached, recent Newspaper stories exposing the global warming frauds and my paper on streetcars. We must all ask the Ontario Liberals and the David Miller NDP machine to stop wasting our money. We must ask them to stop building streetcars that will paralyze the entire city.
