Frank is one of many Canadians who will Pin it for the Planet from May 31 – June 6.
The Ottawa-born musician is also taking buses and using carbon offsets as he travels to over 50 cities across Canada for his 2010-11 Green Keys Tour. His unique concert, composed and performed in the dark, was inspired by Earth Hour to encourage others to make sustainable choices.
“Driving less has been awesome,” he enthuses. “I used to get so mentally and physically tired being behind the wheel. Now that I drive less, I feel that I have more energy to enjoy other aspects of my life.” He and his wife, WWF-Canada online manager Lisa Horvat, have also taken other green steps including switching to Bullfrog Power.
His tip for people who are thinking about driving less? “Plan your schedule ahead. People always say that transit is no good since it’s so slow. If you plan your route and know the schedule, you can get to where you need to go in plenty of time!”
