WWF-CANADA BLOG
News, views and analysis from our team as we work to protect the future of our planet.
The WWF is run at a local level by the following offices...
Our stellar volunteer Chihoe Ho was raised in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he first learned about WWF.
“Growing up in big cities, I always looked forward to trips to the zoo or to nature reserves with my family,” he recalls. “WWF, being the global player it is, was prominent in Southeast Asia and early on, I had associated my passion for the conservation of the environment and wildlife to the organization. So being a part of WWF-Canada now makes me very fortunate.”
Chihoe has called Toronto home for more than five years now, along with his siblings, while their parents remain in Singapore. This summer, he graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours BSc. degree in Conservation Biology and Environmental Science, and is looking for work in his field of study. Meanwhile, his part-time job at Indigo Books and volunteering at WWF-Canada keep him occupied.
As an in-house volunteer, he assists our Donor Relations team with the clean-up and maintenance of records. “Through working with an amazing group of WWF-Canada’s staff members – Rachel, Leandra, Robert and Sabina – I have learnt a good deal about the organization and the work they do, and I myself have picked up a useful skill of working with Raiser’s Edge,” he adds.
“As the saying goes, ‘Action speaks louder than words.’ If one is passionate enough about a cause and has the means to provide such a service, what better way is there than to do something good with the time and have fun doing so?”
