Students on Ice(land), Day 4: Go West

Clipper Adventurer (c) Paige Olmsted
The answer? A resounding yes. Despite calm seas, the gentle roll of the Clipper Adventurer had this land-lubber’s stomach rolling almost immediately after we departed the charming fishing village on the north coast. But thanks to the magic of an anti-nausea patch, I’m finding my sea legs – and not a moment too soon.
Within an hour of setting sail, we spotted a lively group of dolphins swimming our way. I was so glad to be on the deck with the students to share in their excitement, and cheer along with them as we reached the Arctic Circle.

We’re due west now, following the path of many explorers before us, from the Vikings to Stephanson and Anderson. But we’ve got something they didn’t: the ability to blog via satellite! I’ll be working with the students to shape and share their stories in the coming days. Join us on our travels.
