The Whale

How Luna became separated from his pod is a mystery. What to do when the young Orca tried his best to have contact with local residents became a controversy.
On November 18, The Whale, a feature documentary about Luna’s story, opens in theatres in Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa. The story of Luna caught the attention of Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, who is originally from Vancouver. Reynolds became the film’s narrator, helping its release in Canada and the U.S.   Directed by Suzanne Chisholm and Michael Parfitt, The Whale raises questions about what we know and still have to learn about the complex and highly socialized world of cetaceans.
