Perspective on Plan 2014 from the Water’s Edge: Q and A with Senator Bob Runciman
The International Joint Commission has recently created Plan 2014 – a new management plan for Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River. To understand how the plan will impact local communities we have asked Senator Bob Runciman, who lives in Brockville and represents the Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes in the Sentate of Canada, to share his thoughts on this jewel of a region.

Support Plan 2014, Restore Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River
The International Joint Commission (IJC) has released a new and pretty unique proposal to manage Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. At WWF we are really excited about this plan because it’s about returning the river to a more natural flow regime while trying to balance the needs of all stakeholders. If the Plan is approved by both Federal Governments it has the opportunity to be a shining example of collaborative effort for nature and people.
