R.D.Lawrence Place: An inspiration for going green

The whole building is sustainable: from the reclaimed wood, to the composting toilet, soy-based paints, and straw-bale walls, it’s really a sight to behold. It demonstrates how a sustainable building can have a low impact but can be stunning and beautiful as well.
I happened to attend an Earth Day celebration with the staff and community of R.D. Lawrence Place, but above all what really struck me was the amazing sense of community permeating through everything. Among the interactive activities planned throughout the day was laughter, a sort of family connection among the people there, and this feeling that everyone was investing themselves into this community treasure.
I encourage you to check out their website and learn more about the amazing things going on there. www.mindenculturalcentre.com
