WWF in the Eco-Learning Center at Ontario Place!

WWF is joined by many other environmental groups in the Eco-Learning Centre such as The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, Parks Canada, Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto Wildlife Center as well as many others who are all displaying unique exhibits with environmental messages (my personal favorite is the Toronto Humane Society’s live turtle display!).  The WWF exhibit is a family-friendly interactive display that journeys into our rivers and their fragile ecosystems, highlighting the importance of fresh water for nature and for people.
The newly launched Eco-Learning Centre is just one of the new green initiatives underway at Ontario Place this year.  Ontario Place is striving to become a “Zero Waste” park, as well as becoming pesticide free, and improving the natural flow of water through the park.  Admission is free into Ontario Place and the Eco-Learning Centre until October 31st, so it’s a great place to visit with your family over the summer months to learn about some local environmental initiatives.
WWF is grateful to all of our Freshwater Ambassadors (pictured below) who are volunteering with us to keep the rivers exhibit staffed throughout the busy summer months, and helping to answer questions from the public.  We couldn’t do it without you!
