Tell Me Tuesday: Are you doing any green spring cleaning?

The first sign, for me, is that my crocuses are blooming.

The sight of them fills me with happiness and excitement…and a little bit of dread.  Because with spring comes spring cleaning.  Normally I’d be much more dismayed by this prospect, but this year I’m going to make some improvements along with my spring cleaning, which makes the whole thing seem like a lot more fun.
In my garden, I’m planning to install the rain barrel that I purchased and then forgot about last summer.  With Canada Water Week coming up (March 19-25), it seems like a responsible choice – and there’s lots of room for improvement on my water footprint!
I’m also hoping to reduce my emissions footprint and take full advantage of the weather by doing some more (and by more I mean any) bicycling.  I picked up an awesome old bike at a yard sale last summer, but never got around to getting it repaired and on the road – and since it was just $5, it really needs some help.  But once I do that and it’s nice and shiny, it will be a great way to get around and enjoy the sunshine and warmth.
And to ensure that I’m riding my bike and gardening in style, I’m thinking of holding a clothing swap after I clean out my closet.  All those clothes that I love but never wear should really go to a good home – and what better way to get some brilliant new-to-me ensembles than by trading with my stylish friends?
I think this is a good start, but I know there’s so much more that I can and should do.  Which makes me wonder: what are your eco-friendly spring cleaning/improvement ideas?
