I sat down to tease open an owl pellet. That’s the dried furry mass of tiny bones that’s regurgitated after an owl’s meal. Within moments, a gang of eager kids saddled up to help me – well, actually, they took over. Kids and wildlife – it’s a potent mix.

Hope soars
It was bigger than the Red-tailed Hawks so frequent along the freeways of Southern Ontario. Big enough that I thought “eagle” right away.
