I am sitting in a cafe in the lobby of the Retaj Al Rayyan hotel, in Doha, Qatar, having a much needed coffee and musing about what happened last week. If CoP 15 was a boxing match, then this was the main event: debate of the proposal to list Atlantic blue fin tuna on CITES Appendix I.

Good news for newts at CITES wildlife meeting
Finally I can report some good news from CoP 15. This morning the Parties to CITES voted to list the Kaiser's spotted newt (Neurergus kaiseri) on Appendix I by consensus.
